How we handle your data.
Plain language, no legalese. Longer legal terms live in the contract we sign with each client.
What we collect
When a visitor chats with a Konversate agent, we store the messages, a session identifier, and light context like the page they were on. If they choose to share their name, email, or phone during the conversation, we store that too. We do not collect payment info in chat.
Why we collect it
We store the conversation so your team can follow up on leads, so your monthly report reflects what your customers actually asked, and so the chat agent can improve over time. Contact details are used only to reach the visitor back or to send them to your team.
Who can see it
Conversations belong to the business that owns the chat, plus the Konversate team members responsible for building and managing the system. We do not sell chat data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train third-party models.
Where it lives
Conversation records are stored in Supabase (Postgres). The chat backend runs on Vercel. The language model that generates replies is DeepSeek. Requests and responses pass through these providers only for the purpose of delivering the chat.
How long we keep it
Conversation logs are retained while the chat system is active for your business. If you close your Konversate account, we delete stored conversations within 30 days unless you ask us to keep them longer for your own records.
Your visitors' rights
If a visitor wants their conversation deleted, wants a copy of the data we hold, or wants to opt out, they can email hello@konversate.ai and we will action the request within 30 days.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the underlying database is limited to service credentials that live only in the deployment environment. We do not store API keys or credentials in the browser.
